A Dose of Seersucker

I’ve always had a weakness for Seersucker. (I resisted the obvious pun here, which I deserve a pat on the back for - in addition to a mint julep). I’ll spare you the full fashion-history lesson, but it began appearing amongst the preppy set in the 1920s (having adopted from it’s more egalitarian uses). And it was traditionally a menswear summer staple when the whole no white after labor day was a hard and fast rule. But, of course, menswear has always been in and this is no exception. It’s the perfect summer look for wandering around the city in late August, when everyones on vacation. And why not even take in a show at Lincoln Center (once the theaters reopen, of course)?
