PatBo Fall/Winter 2022

And just like that… New York Fashion Week is here! (damn - I didn’t want to make that pun, having not watched the newest SATC. Oh well.) Love it or hate it… NYFW is definitely a THING. The OG IYKYK sort of deal. But enough of the acronyms. Starting the week of strong with PatBo - saw a wonderfully glittery and whimsical collection presented at the Surrogate’s courthouse off of Chambers Street Downtown. Seriously that venue was UNREAL. I feel like my seatmates were probably so annoyed with my friend and I because basically every other look that came out from underneath the gorgeous veranda was acommpanied by “Oh my god!“ “I LOVE that!“ “Gorgeous!“ It’s a thing you know. But, for all that - these are authentic, unfiltered words. And I do actually believe, particularly in fashion, it’s so easy to become jaded. But if I like something, I will till you. Loudly. Becuase why not. And also because a lot of work and heart and soul goes into collections like these. So if they are actually good - why not say so?

The collection was only helped along by the amazing neo-italianate venue of the surrogate’s court near City Hall downtown (one of my favorite things was all the DCAS officers having to usher fashion people in high heels and hauteur through metal detectors, while asking routine covid questions.) And the shownotes with a QR Code and the little white orchids that graced the seat of every guest. It’s the little things, folks.

So let me tell you about this collection, kids. We’ve already long established that I love sparkly things. But Damn, Did Patricia Bonaldi deliver the glam factor. And the drama. It was a collection that felt elevated. More personal. And you could tell the amount of work by hand that was done. Of particular note was a denim embellished jacket and familiar cuts on velvet beaded gowns that will be perfect for the New York party circuit next fall. Of the 36 Looks sent down the runway, there was nary a one that didn’t inspire. It felt like an early aught’s revival - in the best way - as acknowledged in the shownotes. The front row was filled with all sorts of strong women who like to have fun in how they dress, and feel sexy while doing it. From New York staples like Olivia Palermo and Candace Bushnell, to Fashion heavyweights like Chriselle Lim and Candace Bushnell and Pritkia Swarup. it was a who’s who of ladies who like to lunch - in sequins. The atmosphere made it feel like a midday party. Maybe that was from the unseasonably warm 55 degree weather on Saturday or the excitement of Zero Bond set afterparty co-hosted by TreSemmé. All in all we love to see a female run brand make things that real women actually like - and will wear.

Below , find some of the looks that I will be rushing to pick up once they hit stores.
