Florals For Fall? Groundbreaking

Have you ever heard that thing that’s like “Purple is the color of royalty?” Well where it comes from is Ancient Greece, and it was a color only used for royalty throughout the ages due to the fact that the dye was incredibly expensive, and then as with all things that carry a hefty price tag, it becomes a status thing. Well, luckily we’ve moved on from the sumptuary laws thing, but it still means that purple is one of my favorite colors. As we move through party season, I like to think of things outside of the box. Remember that devil wears Prada quote that has been meme-ified so many times, it almost doesn’t mean anything anymore? Well, yeah florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, but what about Florals for Fall? I wore this look to a Dinner at the Frick a few years back, and I felt the cool colors but with rich textures like raw silk and velvet made the look seasonally appropriate. And cool. Pun very much intended.
