Summer in the City. It’s Hot. It’s Steamy (Both physically and metaphorically). I always think of that song, It’s a cruel, cruel summer, leaving me here on my own. That song is QUINTESSENTIAL summer, for me. And so are 90s vibes, now that I think about it. Is it just that because that’s how I grew up? I mean my childhood summers before age 9 were during that decade. Regardless of how we ended up here, I was thinking of this look I shot about five years ago, when the 90s revival was at its height. I certainly didn’t dress like this as a nine year old, but maybe my mom did? or my babysitters? Or maybe I’ve just watched too many shows like Buffy or movies like Clueless, but I do love the sort of overdone casualness of this kind of outfit. Although If I was going for a true 90s homage, I would have gotten some of those platform slides that are only now making a comeback, but certainly weren’t around five years ago. Anyways, aren’t these high temperature days the best for nostalgia?
